New Reviews 2017: Carnegie Weill Hall and Princeton Summer Concerts

NEW STORIES, SPRING AND SUMMER 2017:

Gilad Cohen’s Around the Cauldron, was commissioned by the Lysander Trio, and they performed this delightful brew as though they owned it... Gabriel Fauré’s famous quartet for piano and strings concluded the program. Jennifer Stumm joined the Lysander for a classic performance of the piece. Concert Artists Guild clearly selects excellent artists to join their program to jump start the careers of young musicians. Watching young talent grow is a privilege for audiences.

Composer Gilad Cohen

We enjoyed being part of a very special concert this spring celebrating Concert Artists Guild. Presented at the beautiful Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, we offered the World Premiere of Gilad Cohen's Around the Cauldron (2016, commissioned by CAG with support from the Adele and John Gray Endowment Fund) and teamed up with fantastic violist Jennifer Stumm in Faure's gorgeous Piano Quartet.

Princeton University Richardson Auditorium

This summer, we had the pleasure of performing at Princeton University Summer Chamber Concerts, held in the stunning Richardson Auditorium. The varied program included two French masterworks, by Lili Boulanger and Ravel, along with trios by Granados, Gilad Cohen, and Franz Liszt.

The Lysander Piano Trio, formed at the Juilliard School, is less than ten years old, but is nevertheless a major ensemble player on the chamber music scene... From the outset of Tuesday night’s concert, the Lysander Trio brought out the drama and grace in the music.
